Spelling Practice

We bought some bendaroos to help bring some fun to spelling practice. I hope it lasts, but most likely I will have to come up with something else soon.

Jake's 1st Spelling Test

Jacob had his first test today!  I was so proud of him, especially since we didn't have time to work on it.  He also got 100% on a math time test.  Now we just have to work on the talking in class....grrrr.

First Day of School (1st and Kinder)

 Jacob had a great day.  He was so excited that he gets to "roam" the whole school and play on the big playground.  When I first picked him up I asked if he like it and his response was "kind of, but it was a long day!"  He has two teachers who share Mrs. Alt and Mrs. McBrayer.  It brings back memories of when I taught 1st and I am excited to do it from the other side as a mom.

Tyler had a great first day of kindergarten too!  He loves the behavior clips and got all the way up to Star Student.  Our neighbor Sofia is in the class which they both seem to like. One of his favorite things is bringing a snack, which he did not get to do in preschool.  He is so smart, I am excited to see how much he soaks up this year.  His teacher is Ms Contreras and seems very sweet.  I felt the tears start, but I quickly got busy and they went away.

Playgroup - End of Summer BBQ

It was another great playgroup party filled with trampoline jumping, one big goose-egg, silly kid dances, lots of yummy food, talking about teachers and classes, and stories around the fire pit.  There are so many kids now and they are getting bigger (14)!  Now we can watch them a little less except round 3 with Matthew and Kylie.  That is Kylie in the picture with Mona.  Love my friends!

Sea World, Last Summer Hurrah

We had a great, slightly crazy, day at Sea World.  All the kids including Ty went on the Atlantis roller coaster.  I think he has officially turned a corner.  Kylie is so tall for her age we will all be going to Six Flags in no time!  This picture is at the Dolphin Show.  I think I got one kid looking at me, which is about right.  It was nice to go with Sofia and Santiago.  Off to school on Monday!

Snores & Smores

We attended Snores and Smores for the 3rd year.  It is such a fun event.  Friday night the boys got their faces painted, did the velcro jump, and watched an outdoor movie with popcorn and smores.  The Werts family joined us this year, so the adults got to stay up late and laugh.  We camped at Aviara Park in Carlsbad on the beautiful green grass, sure beats the dirt.  Matt went a little crazy at Target and bought some new camping gear that was quite exciting for the whole family. Kylie stayed with Nana, but we are hoping next year she will be ready.  I am sad to think the kids will grow out of this event someday.
