Twas the Night Before Christmas

Annual reading...whenever I see these pics I think of how rushed we are coming back from dad's and trying to get them in bed so we can prepare for Christmas! We may even try to skip a page or two ;)

Jake's Rockband Party!

Jake turns 7! It is hard to believe. Jake has grown so much in the last year and we are starting to see bits of what the future holds. We have learned he is a goal setter, and once he sets that goal nothing can stop him. He started football, and made me practice with him everyday in the backyard. He wakes me up every morning to make sure I get him to running club on time. He has really taken a liking to sports, and at the same time is at the top of his class in reading and math.

His party was a rockband theme and he invited all his friends from playgroup, the neighborhood, and his class....boys only of course. Everyone got a backstage pass with a number on it, so everyone had a turn. I attempted to make a guitar cake although the handle part didn't quite fit. He made some memories and that was my wish for him!

Uncle Steve's Surprise

Uncle Steve was home from South Korea and came to surprise the boys. It was the sweetest thing and brought tears to my eyes. So greatful for a brother-in-law that serves his country and one that loves his nieces and nephews :)

Time to Trim the Tree

We got our tree at the famous Home Depot :)

Gingersnaps, a new recipe this year, and hot chocolate.

Dangerous decorating, but at least the ornaments don't all end up at the bottom.

The first year I got to sit and hand out ornaments instead of doing it myself. They usually do a couple and are over it, but this year they did the whole thing!

RVing at Dos Picos

We finally did it...after months of talking about it we rented an RV. It was so great, that Matt was afraid I would never go back to tent camping. With heat, ac, stove, refridgerator, and a DVD I could have stayed forever. The kids had a blast and met some new friends. We tried to make a cake on the campfire, but it never quite worked out. The boys took a hike and after an hour I could hear my sweet Ty crying from the mountain tops. Apparently they took a side trail, maybe not a trail at all, home and returned with some bumps and scratches. It was so nice to just focus on family for a few days, without the interuptions of schedules and day to day stuff. Can't wait to do it again!
