Halloween Open House

We gave up on going to all the grandparents houses on Halloween to trick or treat and instead invited them over to our place. After some chili and cornbread we headed out on the block with drinks and wagons in hand. My mom and Jim came with and it was fun to show them our traditions. The kids are covering more ground each year. I am guessing at some point they will want to ditch mom and dad!

Turner 3rd Annual Halloween Party

Another fun time at the Turner house. The playgroup ladies dressed up as different Miss ... We had some fun Halloween themed food, played rockband, and a toilet paper mummy game. So lucky to have great friends who are always up for a party!

Jake is still Running!

Jake got his 75 mile award this week and is set to get his 100 next week! He is like the energizer bunny. Each charm on the necklace he is wearing signifies 5 miles. Way to go Jake!!

Pumpkins Carved!

Carving 5 pumpkins is a big job! The boys began drawing the faces they wanted on paper, while daddy cut all the lids. I got the honor of cleaning out all the guts, which I actually enjoyed. Daddy drew their faces on the pumpkins, and Jake got to carve his pumpkin himself for the first year. I asked Kylie if she wanted circles or triangles for the different parts of the face, and the answer was always circle, and continued with "more circles" after I was done carving the entire face. Fun times!

Bates Nut Farm - Pumpkin Patch

We were able to make it to Bates this year. We went with my MOPS group and took our neighbor Sofia. The kids got to do a tractor ride, straw maze, and then play around in the pumpkins. Kylie sure things she is just as big as the other kids.

Benny the Bear

Tyler got to bring home Benny the Bear from Kinder for the weekend. He brought him to Knuckleheads gym, church, Halloween shopping, and Jake's soccer game. We enjoyed having him and Ty loved telling his classmates about his weekend.

Mommy, Daddy Timeout

We were so excited to catch a break from the insane schedule of three kids and the business. We stayed in Del Mar for two nights and acted like tourists. We ate at some super cute places and talked for hours. I got to read my book on the patio and Matt relaxed with his computer. I am so glad it worked out and so thankful Nana took on the three kids crazy schedules so we could go.

Location:Del Mar

Loving to Help Mommy

Kylie is such a little mommy. She loves to do everything...very independent. She is also so nurturing with her brothers, rubbing their backs when they are hurt. What a doll!

Jake Loves to Run!

Carrillo Elementary has a running club, and boy does Jake love it.  For every 5 miles they run they get a foot charm to go on a necklace they wear.  They also get various awards for certain milestones, like tshirts, trophies, food gift cards, and ice cream tickets.  It is so effortless when he runs.  He has run 45 miles in only a few weeks of school!  The first week he had blisters all over his toes, so Nana got him some new shoes.  One day the temperatures got over 100, and even though his teacher and I told him not to run, he still did (and ended up getting sick later in the day).  He wakes up every morning and comes running in to make sure he is not late for before running school.  I am interested to see if this excitement lasts throughout the year.  He got his first 25 mile award today at flag salute.  He was so excited he could hardly sleep last night.  Maybe a future track runner?
