Moments to Cherish

Picking up the boys from school.

Snuggling in our bed after bathtime and before bedtime. This seems to be a new ritual.

Caught reading in her room...so sweet!

More Trouble!

Perhaps I have short-term memory, but I don't remember the boys getting into as much stuff as Kylie does.  This was in one day starting with some early morning tattoos with Sharpie!  I scrubbed it with rubbing alcohol and soaked her in the bath forever, but it still stayed on.  Next she moved on to my Modge Podge glue.  She added a nice clump to the hair.  I think she thought it was lotion and hair gel.

Go Padres!

We got great tickets to the Padres game from one of Matt's clients, but instead of sitting in the nice seats we headed for the park.  The kids loved playing in the sand.  It was a crazy day with soccer pictures and church so by the time we got there the game was more than half way over.  The people working kept reminding us that at each gate we entered.  It actually was a perfect amount of time for the kids to watch the game, play in the sand, and then head out.  The reason nobody is around us is probably because the score was 1-6 with the Padres losing bad!

Jake Starts Soccer!

Jake is playing on the Lightning Viper Ninjas team for the Lightning Soccer Club.  The second picture is him waving to Nana Di.  He definitely plays to the crowd!  We are looking forward to another great season. Our neighbor Santiago is playing too, and you can see them strategizing in the pics.

Family Day at the Races

Showing our winning ticket!

Free pony rides!

We had a great time at the Del Mar races. The place was empty and the kids had their choice of fun slides and jumps with no lines! And better yet it was free. We went back and forth from watching races to the kid zone.

Spelling Practice

We bought some bendaroos to help bring some fun to spelling practice. I hope it lasts, but most likely I will have to come up with something else soon.

Jake's 1st Spelling Test

Jacob had his first test today!  I was so proud of him, especially since we didn't have time to work on it.  He also got 100% on a math time test.  Now we just have to work on the talking in class....grrrr.

First Day of School (1st and Kinder)

Jacob had a great day.  He was so excited that he gets to "roam" the whole school and play on the big playground.  When I first picked him up I asked if he like it and his response was "kind of, but it was a long day!"  He has two teachers who share Mrs. Alt and Mrs. McBrayer.  It brings back memories of when I taught 1st and I am excited to do it from the other side as a mom.
Tyler had a great first day of kindergarten too!  He loves the behavior clips and got all the way up to Star Student.  Our neighbor Sofia is in the class which they both seem to like. One of his favorite things is bringing a snack, which he did not get to do in preschool.  He is so smart, I am excited to see how much he soaks up this year.  His teacher is Ms Contreras and seems very sweet.  I felt the tears start, but I quickly got busy and they went away.

Playgroup - End of Summer BBQ

It was another great playgroup party filled with trampoline jumping, one big goose-egg, silly kid dances, lots of yummy food, talking about teachers and classes, and stories around the fire pit.  There are so many kids now and they are getting bigger (14)!  Now we can watch them a little less except round 3 with Matthew and Kylie.  That is Kylie in the picture with Mona.  Love my friends!

Sea World, Last Summer Hurrah

We had a great, slightly crazy, day at Sea World.  All the kids including Ty went on the Atlantis roller coaster.  I think he has officially turned a corner.  Kylie is so tall for her age we will all be going to Six Flags in no time!  This picture is at the Dolphin Show.  I think I got one kid looking at me, which is about right.  It was nice to go with Sofia and Santiago.  Off to school on Monday!
