Potty Training, but mommy is not ready yet!

Kylie has been wanting to wipe herself for a couple weeks, and the last few days has been asking to sit on the potty.  How do I convince her that I am not ready for this yet?  She has not had any success, but drags me to the potty quite a bit.  She just turned 2, and I had my mind on 2 1/2.  I am guessing it is time to buy pull-ups with girl designs, and get this going. I hope it is true when they say girls are easier.

Ty turns 5!

I was so sad to see Ty turn 5. I guess with Jake we were excited for the next stage in life, but with Ty I just want to stop time. They start school at 5, lose all of their baby talk, hug and kiss a little less, and become a lot more independent. I am not ready for that. Ty is such a sweetheart. I could just squeeze him to death. He loves any type of video games from Club Penguin on the computer to Mario Brothers on the Wii. Our biggest challenge is getting him to take time away from the games. He is a sweet older brother who is constantly saying "what Kylie?" in the sweetest voice when she calls his name over and over again. He has already started to read and his math abilities are amazing. I guess people are right when they say the second child learns so much quicker. He loves to learn and is a fish in the swimming pool. He is sensitive and fun loving at the same time. I could be anywhere in the house and say, "I love you Ty," and he will always return an "I love you too mom" He chose to go bowling with the family on his out and out birthday, where Nana and Papa Turner came to watch.

Ty's Animal Adventure/Club Penguin 5th Birthday Party

Tyler had an amazing 5th birthday. We turned our backyard into a Club Penguin World, Ty's favorite computer game. We set up a Mine, our sandbox with gold coins, a Dojo, where the kids played Card Jitsu, a Ski Village, our playset, and the Stadium, where the animal show took place. I made special Penguin cupcakes for all the kids. Wild Wonders brought seven amazing animals (a hedgehog, armadillo, fox, crocodile, snake, turtle, and a kinkajou). I couldn't believe how close Kylie's head was to the snake. My heart was pounding. I really wanted Ty to have a special 5th birthday. It is such a special year. He has shared his last two birthdays with friends that had similar birthdays, and we skipped his 2nd birthday. I was so happy for him to have a special day!

Legos, Following in his Father's Footsteps

Jake has really taken to Lego kits.  It is a really fun activity for the two of us.  I know how much Matt loved Legos as a kid and it has seem to pass on to Jake.  He must have been inspired by the jet Matt built when he was a kid that is still displayed in our office. Although Matt has been working a lot lately, I am sure once Jake gets to the intense kits Matt will be there to help.

Kidsville

Kidsville moved into the Carlsbad mall. The kids had a blast playing with all the costumes and rooms.  Kylie loved dressing up and pushing a baby around the place.  It was perfect for her.

Kylie's First Movie

We took the kids to see Toy Story III.  I was worried about Kylie sitting through it.  She did great as long as she got her own seat with popcorn and a drink.  As long as we kept feeding her she did great.  It was an awesome movie!

Wii!

Matt got a killer deal off Craigslist on a Wii with a lot of games and accessories.  It is probably the best and worst thing ever.  We love playing as a family, but it also starts many fights.  We all play Mario together and pretty much scream at each other the whole time.  The other games like bowling and driving are a little more civilized.

Boomers

I took the kids to Boomers for a summer treat.  They had a blast.  They were a bit too young for the Laser Tag, and Jake came out a little upset :(
